چکیده

The interaction of the electric and magnetic dipole moments of a particle with the electromagnetic field is investigated in an approach that deals with four-dimensional (4D) geometric quantities. The new commutation relations for the 4D orbital and intrinsic angular momentums and also for the 4D dipole moments are introduced. The expectation value of the quantum 4-force, which holds in any frame, is worked out in terms of them. In contrast to it the whole calculation in [1] ([1] J. Anandan, Phys. Rev. Lett. 85, 1354 (2000)) has been made only in the rest frame of the dipole. It is proved that, e.g., the expression for the 3D force fS in [1] is not relativistically correct and that the quantum 4-force is not zero in the experiments proposed in [1]. This means that the phase shifts that could be observed in such experiments are not topological phase shifts.

We present a new stationary, asymptotically flat solution of 5D EinsteinMaxwell gravity describing a Saturn-like black object: a rotating black hole surrounded by a rotating dipole black ring. The solution is generated by combining the vacuum black Saturn solution and the vacuum black ring solution with appropriately chosen parameters. Some basic properties of the solution are analyzed and the ...

The Dirac theory in the Euclidean Taub-NUT space gives rise to a large collection of conserved operators associated to genuine or hidden symmetries. They are involved in interesting algebraic structures as dynamical algebras or even infinite-dimensional algebras or superalgebras. One presents here the infinite-dimensional superalgebra specific to the Dirac theory in manifolds carrying the Gross...

We construct static, asymptotically flat solutions of SU(2) Einstein-Yang-Mills theory in 4 + 1 dimensions, subject to bi-azimuthal symmetry. Both particle-like and black hole solutions are considered for two different sets of boundary conditions in the Yang–Mills sector, corresponding to multisolitons and soliton-antisoliton pairs. For gravitating multi-soliton solutions, we find that their ma...

A formulation of U(1) symmetric classical membrane motions (preserving one rotational symmetry) is given, and reductions to systems of ODE’s, as well as some ideas concerning singularities and integrability. Let me start by giving some particular example(s) of a 2-dimensonal (timelike, time periodic) extremal manifold M2 ⊂ R and 3-folds (singularities included) of vanishing mean curvature, in 4...
